![]() I would stay here again for the May race, or to play golf, but would not recommend as a romantic getaway. Solid four star hotel, nice beach location, and could be a solid choice for those on a budget, except for the upselling. Long story short, should be removed from the Expedia VIP list, as no one at hotel knew anything about the benefits. Denied, again, but was told that for $15.00 an hour I could extend the check out. Requested a late checkout, which should be honored as a VIP access hotel. Drive to Mile post 69 for great snorkeling. Some very basic snorkeling around the rocks, but no reef in the area. Soft sand, and plenty of room for sunbathing. ![]() The best was the location on Hapuna Beach. However, not the kind of manicured grounds you would find at the Fairmont, Sheraton, Hilton, or related. Upon arriving, I could not get help with my bags or bike box, the three Valet fellas just stared at me. No stores or the related within miles of the hotel. Should be noted the hotel is a bit isolated, you will want a rental car. But the location on Hapuna Beach is excellent, especially for the 70.3. This is a huge negative change and Expedia hasn’t given a lot of notice given COVID. Normally Expedia points are worth 0.7 each, but at VIP properties they are worth 1.4. ![]() Last year I stayed at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel - you cannot compare the two hotels as for quality. Expedia has sent out an e-mail to loyalty members stating that effective Februpoints will no longer be worth double when redeeming at VIP Access properties. Spent three nights at the Hapuna Beach hotel attending the Ironman 70.3. However, not the kind of manicured grounds you would find at. Last year I stayed at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel - you cannot compare the two hotels as for quality.
